What is a flash drive?
Answer
A flash drive, or a thumb drive, is a small storage device that is around the size of your thumb. You can plug the device into a computer to save a file and then plug the device into a different computer (or the same computer) to access the file. Thumb drives are helpful because they help you to store backup files. It also helps to have a flash drive so that you can get to your file if you cannot access the cloud (if you get locked out, if the internet goes out, etc.). You can buy flash drives in the school bookstore.
To use a flash drive, plug it into the side of the computer (in the USB slot). You can then search for the flash drive when you would like to save anything. Make sure that you have closed/finished using the flash drive before disconnecting it. You can then plug it into another computer and access the files.
